Two Nights in the Jungle: Rincón de la Vieja
Two Nights in the Jungle: Rincón de la Vieja
We spent two nights deep in the jungle near Rincón de la Vieja, surrounded by towering trees and the constant hum of insects. Without easy ways out, we immersed ourselves in nature: hiking to hot springs, watching toucans at dawn and telling stories by lantern light when the power flickered. Limited Wi‑Fi forced us to be fully present. Success wasn’t measured in miles hiked but in memories made by headlamp.
Family travel tip: Jungle lodges often have limited amenities—bring flashlights, portable chargers and a sense of adventure. Pack lightweight long sleeves to keep mosquitoes at bay. Embrace the disconnect; board games and stargazing become evening entertainment.
