Thirty‑Two Hours to Paradise

Thirty‑Two Hours to Paradise

Thirty‑Two Hours to Paradise

It took four flights, two tricycle rides and a bangka ferry to get from our home to Coron. By the time we stepped off the last boat, we’d been in transit for 32 hours. The kids slept on airport floors and played I‑Spy in immigration lines, and I lost count of how many times we repacked our carry‑ons. When we finally saw the jagged limestone cliffs, it felt like earning a badge. Unplanned parenting means celebrating the journey as much as the destination.

Family travel tip: Long haul with little ones? Pack patience and plenty of small treats—think stickers, comics and snacks. Break up flights with movement, and use airport play areas when available. When booking to remote islands like Coron, expect multi‑leg journeys and plan an overnight in the gateway city if needed.
