Dumaguete delights: boulevard strolls and belfry bells
In Dumaguete we strolled along Rizal Boulevard, sampling street food from carts—balut, tempura, kikiam—and watching ferries come and go. We visited St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral and its 19th‑century belfry, once a watchtower. A boat ride to Apo Island for turtle snorkelling rounded out our stay.
Family travel tip: Eat at the boulevard in the late afternoon when vendors set up, tour the Silliman University Museum and take day trips to nearby marine sanctuaries.
