Zhangjiajie adventures: misty peaks and glass bridges
Zhangjiajie adventures: misty peaks and glass bridges
We trekked for hours through mist‑shrouded mountains in Zhangjiajie, rode the world’s longest glass bridge and conquered our fear of heights. The kids were amazed by the ‘Avatar’ pillars and thrilled by the cable car rides. Seeing these quartzite sandstone peaks up close was surreal.
Family travel tip: Wear good hiking shoes, start early to avoid crowds and bring snacks and layers for changing weather. The glass bridge can be scary but is safe and unforgettable.
Would you dare to cross a glass bridge 300 metres above ground? Our itinerary takes the stress out of planning a Zhangjiajie adventure. Our stay was $39, a solid deal for the comfort we got. Breakfast came to $6, simple but satisfying. Lunch was $25, offering great value. We spent $130 on activities worth every cent. Transport ran us $80, cheaper than many cities. Altogether, we spent about $311 for the day.
