Vang Vieng: tubing, zip‑lines and sunrise hikes

We spent several days exploring Vang Vieng’s landscapes—tubing down the Nam Song River, zip‑lining into the Blue Lagoon and hiking to Nam Xay at sunrise. The kids loved the swimming holes and rural vibe, and we appreciated the town’s shift toward eco‑tourism.

Family travel tip: Check river conditions before tubing, wear life jackets and choose operators who prioritise safety; bring water shoes for the lagoons and start hikes early to avoid the heat.

Would your family dare to zip‑line over a lagoon? If adventure in Laos beckons, our custom plans ensure thrill‑seeking and safety go hand in hand. Altogether, we spent about $123 for the day. Highlights: Our stay was $35, a solid deal for the comfort we got., We spent $13 on activities worth every cent., Transport ran us $75, cheaper than many cities.
