Shipwrecks and Secret Lagoons: Coron Day 3
Shipwrecks and Secret Lagoons: Coron Day 3
Coron’s turquoise waters hid surprises at every turn. On day 3 we clambered onto a bangka for a day of snorkeling over World War II wrecks, exploring hidden coves and eating lunch at a fisherman’s hut. The boys’ eyes widened as coral‑encrusted propellers emerged from the deep and clownfish darted through anemones. Between dives we napped on the deck and listened to the crew sing love songs in Tagalog. These are the field trips you can’t replicate in a classroom.
Family travel tip: Coron’s island‑hopping tours can be tailored—let your guide know if you want to see shipwrecks, lakes like Kayangan, or beaches for sandcastle time. Bring waterproof bags, extra dry clothes and snacks. Even strong swimmers should wear life jackets when currents are unpredictable.
