Ninh Bình adventures: soaking in the vibe at Tam Coc

On Day 48 we arrived in Tam Coc and instantly understood what travellers mean when they say a place has a vibe. After the hustle of Hanoi and Ha Long, this sleepy riverside town felt like a different world. We spent most of the day catching up on work while the kids swam for hours and munched on French fries by the pool. In the evening we wandered past rice fields and limestone cliffs glowing in the fading light.

Family travel tip: Choose accommodations with a pool for downtime between boat rides and bike tours, and rent bicycles to explore the surrounding countryside at a leisurely pace.
