Ninh Bình adventures: lotus fields and galaxy caves
Ninh Bình adventures: lotus fields and galaxy caves
Day 50 in Vietnam brought us to the Múa Caves, which turned out to be more about the climb than the caverns. We wandered through a vast lotus field before tackling a stairway of about 500 steps. At the top we were rewarded with 360‑degree views over rice paddies and limestone karsts that made the sweat worthwhile. Later we ventured to Galaxy Cave, accessed by scooter and a short boat ride. Inside, coloured lights illuminated underground rivers while bats swooped overhead. Even a small snake cameo couldn’t dim our smiles.
Family travel tip: Wear sturdy shoes and bring water for the Múa climb; for Galaxy Cave, hire an experienced boat driver and carry a flashlight for dark sections.
Do your kids love caves or heights more? Our Ninh Bình itinerary helps you blend both with safe, family‑friendly pacing. Our stay was $190, a solid deal for the comfort we got. Lunch was $8, offering great value. We spent $39 on activities worth every cent. Transport ran us $12, cheaper than many cities. Altogether, we spent about $249 for the day.
