Bangkok adventures: canals, water parks and night markets
Our final days in Bangkok were a whirlwind of contrasts. We drifted along the city’s canals in a wooden boat, passing stilt houses and waving to locals who cook and fish on the water. We then swapped serenity for thrills at Siam Amazing Park, where the kids rode waterslides and laughed their way through wave pools.
Back on land we ate our way through night markets, sampling everything from pad Thai to mango sticky rice. Even the memory of a missed flight couldn’t dampen our spirits; Bangkok’s energy is contagious and the kids’ excitement for boat rides kept us smiling.
Family travel tip: Balance active attractions like water parks with slower experiences like canal tours, and always keep a stash of street‑food favourites to fend off “hangry” moments.

Our stay was $55, a solid deal for the comfort we got. Breakfast came to $10, simple but satisfying. Lunch was $15, offering great value. Dinner cost $37, proof that tasty doesn’t mean pricey. Transport ran us $20, cheaper than many cities. Altogether, we spent about $172 for the day.
