Dubai Farewell: From Atlantis to the Burj

On our final day in Dubai we crammed in all the icons. We walked the beaches near Atlantis, the Palm and imagined life inside the luxury resort. We gazed up at the Burj Khalifa—the world’s tallest tower—and rode the elevator to the observation deck. At the Dubai Mall we marveled at the indoor aquarium and Dubai Fountain show. The boys’ eyes were as wide as the mall’s aquarium windows. Leaving was bittersweet but we know we’ll be back.

Family travel tip: When time is short, prioritize experiences. Pre‑book tickets for popular attractions like the Burj Khalifa to avoid long lines. Visit the Dubai Mall early in the day for a calmer experience, and end with the fountain show at night.
