El Salvador, Part 5: Devil's Gate & Finally, the Beach
Drove out to Puerta del Diablo (Devil’s Gate) outside the capital, which has this glass skywalk built out over the cliffs — except the fog rolled in so thick we couldn’t see a thing past the railing. Boys posed for photos anyway, arms up, celebrating a view that wasn’t there. A stray dog joined the photoshoot on the glass floor like it belonged there, so that’s the memory instead of the view, and honestly a fair trade.
Grabbed elote on the way out — corn loaded with mayo, cheese, and sauce, the kind of street food you commit to fully or not at all. Enzo went all in.
Then, finally, actual beach time. Black volcanic sand, real waves worth swimming in, no storm in sight. Xander and Axel got out past the break just floating around, and one of them (not naming names) waded straight through the whitewash like it was nothing while the other stood there deciding if he wanted to commit.
Felt like the trip finally exhaled a little. Foggy cliffs, questionable corn, and a beach that actually cooperated — good combo.
