Paddle Boards and Rain Storms in La Fortuna
Paddle Boards and Rain Storms in La Fortuna
Craving some quiet water time, we rented paddle boards and glided along a calm river outside La Fortuna. Monkeys chattered in the trees, iguanas sunned themselves on branches, and colourful birds flitted overhead. Halfway through our paddle a perfect rain storm rolled in, drenching us as we laughed and splashed. Paddling back under a curtain of rain was like living in our own nature documentary.
Family travel tip: Bring dry bags and quick‑dry clothes for paddle board outings. Start early to spot wildlife and avoid afternoon thunderstorms. Teach kids basic paddling techniques near shore before heading out, and always wear life jackets.
