Urban Exploration in Jacó: Beauty in Decay

Urban Exploration in Jacó: Beauty in Decay

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. High above Jacó we stumbled upon an abandoned hillside restaurant, its walls covered in vibrant graffiti and its terraces overtaken by jungle. We explored carefully, admiring the street art and panoramic views of the Pacific. The kids turned the empty rooms into obstacle courses while we imagined the stories this place could tell. It was a reminder that adventure can be found off the tourist trail.

Family travel tip: When exploring abandoned or lesser‑known sites, prioritize safety. Wear closed‑toe shoes, watch for unstable floors, and respect local laws. Bring a small first‑aid kit and always tell someone where you’re going. Afterwards, reward yourselves with a fresh coconut at the nearest beach.
