Overcoming Fears: Rafting and Canyoneering in La Fortuna

La Fortuna pushed us out of our comfort zones. We booked a day of white‑water rafting and waterfall rappelling, and even though the boys were apprehensive, they donned helmets and harnesses like champs. Screams turned to cheers as we navigated rapids and rappelled down a cascade. Seeing our kids conquer their fears was the highlight of the trip—and a reminder that adventure builds resilience.

Family travel tip: Choose family‑friendly rafting companies with Class II‑III rapids for younger children. Guides provide safety briefings and gear—listen closely and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Pack a waterproof camera to capture those brave smiles.

What fear have your children overcome on a trip? Share your proudest moments. Our travel planning service can recommend age‑appropriate adventure tours that challenge and empower kids safely.
