Race Day Reflections: St. George Marathon
Race Day Reflections: St. George Marathon
The St. George Marathon is always a humbling experience. Running down from the pine forests of Pine Valley into the red rock canyons, I felt every mile and every emotion. My family’s faces at the finish line erased the pain. Training alongside travel taught me discipline; crossing that line with my boys cheering taught me joy. I’ll never forget the mix of exhaustion and elation under the Utah sun.
Family travel tip: Combine destination races with family trips—it’s a great way to explore new places and set an example of perseverance. Make sure to balance race prep with family fun so no one feels neglected. Volunteer opportunities at races can also engage children.
