Engineering Wonders: Uvita Waterfall and Sea Caves
Engineering Wonders: Uvita Waterfall and Sea Caves
Trusting the engineering was the theme of our day in Uvita. We climbed a ladder bolted to a rock face to slide down Uvita Waterfall, cheering each other on as we plunged into the pool below. Then we timed our walk through seaside caves at the Marino Ballena “whale tail” during low tide, marveling at how the ocean carved arches and caverns. The kids learned that adventure sometimes involves a dash of courage and a leap of faith.
Family travel tip: Check tide charts before exploring sea caves and visit waterfalls with built‑in slides; guides are recommended. Wear water shoes with traction and expect to get wet. Teach children to respect natural formations and leave no trace.
