Return to Uvita: Why We Came Back
Return to Uvita: Why We Came Back
Some places tug at you until you return. Uvita is one of those. After exploring other parts of Costa Rica, we circled back to this small town on the South Pacific coast for more beach days and waterfall hikes. Marino Ballena National Park’s famous Whale Tail sandbar felt like a welcome mat, and the boys spent hours bodysurfing in the gentle waves. It was a reminder that it’s okay to revisit favourites when your kids beg to go back.
Family travel tip: If you fall in love with a destination, don’t be afraid to plan a second visit. Uvita’s charm lies in its consistent surf and laid‑back vibe—rent a board, hike to Nauyaca Falls, and catch low tide to walk the Whale Tail. Early mornings are best to avoid crowds and midday heat.
